Through the screenings, doctors have identified 19 children in Vu Quang district (Ha Tinh) with congenital heart disease, of which 5 cases have been recommended for surgery.
At the program, 818 children in Vu Quang district received congenital heart disease screening, electrocardiograms, and Doppler echocardiography conducted by the doctors from Hanoi Heart Hospital. Through the screening, 19 children were diagnosed with congenital heart disease, of which 5 cases were recommended for surgery by the doctors. These cases will undergo consultation and guidance on the procedures for free surgery.
Hanoi Heart Hospital has recently collaborated with the Health Center of Vu Quang district and sponsored units to organize a program providing free medical examinations and heart surgeries for children aged 0 to 16 in the district.The free screening and heart surgery program is a deeply humane initiative aimed at early detection of congenital heart disease in children, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. It provides many opportunities for these children to undergo surgery and receive treatment for congenital heart disease free of charge, ensuring they have a healthy heart.
