On the morning of October 28th, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City, Thong Nhat Hospital hosted the opening ceremony of the 2023 International Cardiology and Geriatrics Conference.

In his speech at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), stated that Thong Nhat Hospital is entrusted by the Party and the State with the task of caring for and safeguarding the health of high-ranking officials. Thong Nhat Hospital is also a leading cardiology and geriatrics center in the Southern region, striving to become a comprehensive geriatric hospital of special class to further improve healthcare services and medical care for the people in the Southern region.

“We have just gone through the COVID-19 pandemic raging worldwide, leaving certain sequelae for those affected, especially for elderly individuals with underlying conditions. This is a new issue that requires further research and exploration to clarify, with more specific scientific evidence to provide practical solutions for a better quality of life for patients,” shared by Associate Professor Dr. Le Dinh Thanh.
The Cardiology and Geriatrics Conference featured 29 sessions over two days from October 27th-28th, 2023, with the participation of hundreds of delegates including professors, associate professors, doctors with expertise in cardiology, geriatrics, and various other specialties.
Associate Professor Dr. Lê Đình Thanh, Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, stated that nearly 200 scientific papers and research studies were submitted to participate in the conference. The organizing committee has selected and published 62 papers in the Community Medical Journal, with 153 papers already or scheduled to be presented at the conference.
